(JNS.org) Yahya Sinwar, the political chief in Gaza for the Palestinian terrorist organization Hamas, said Thursday the group will not disarm or ever recognize Israel, and vowed to get rid of the Jewish state.

"Gone is the time in which Hamas discussed recognition of Israel. The discussion now is about when we will wipe out Israel," Sinwar said during a rally in Gaza.

Sinwar added, "No one will disarm us. No one can disarm Hamas." His declaration came after the U.S. and Israel said this week they will not negotiate with any Palestinian unity government that includes Hamas, as long as the terror group refuses to abide by the Middle East Quartet principles of disarming, renouncing terror and recognizing Israel.

"The United States reiterates the importance of adherence to the Quartet principles: any Palestinian government must unambiguously and explicitly commit to nonviolence, recognize the State of Israel, accept previous agreements and obligations between the parties—including to disarm terrorists—and commit to peaceful negotiations,” Jason Greenblatt, the U.S. representative for international negotiations, said Thursday. “If Hamas is to play any role in a Palestinian government, it must accept these basic requirements.”

Sinwar also encouraged the Palestinian Authority and its president, Mahmoud Abbas, to “use the weapons of resistance” against Israel as it would “greatly advance the Palestinian issue.”
