(JNS) Two men in their 30s were killed on Tuesday morning in a head-on a collision between a private vehicle and truck on Highway 60 in Samaria, near the community of Eli.

Magen David Adom paramedics evacuated two passengers to Shaare Zedek Medical Center and Hadassah Mount Scopus hospitals in Jerusalem.

The highway, the primary road traveling through Samaria, was closed in both directions.

Three people were extracted by firefighters after being trapped in the car. Two of them—the driver and passenger of the private car—were pronounced dead.

The car’s front end was crushed underneath the truck, which sustained serious damage.

Route 60 is a scenic, winding road through southern Samaria, with one lane in each direction. Seven people were killed on the road in 2018.
