Home of Halamish Terrorist Demolished by Israeli Security Forces

(JNS.org) Israeli security forces demolished the family home of 19-year-old Palestinian terrorist Omar al-Abed, who fatally stabbed three Israelis in the Samaria community of Halamish in July.

Local Palestinians rioted as security forces destroyed the home Wednesday morning in the village of Kobar. Yet donations from Palestinian residents of the village will enable the terrorist’s family to build a new home in the area.

“Their home can be rebuilt, but my home has been destroyed forever,” said Michal Salomon, the widow of Elad Salomon, who was killed in last month’s terror attack, Yedioth Ahronoth reported.

“The death penalty is needed so these terrorists will not be able to build a new home,” she said.

Members of the Abed family, including the terrorist’s father, mother, two brothers and uncle, will be charged with failing to prevent the killings. According to the Israel Police, several Abed family members confessed to knowing of Omar’s intentions before the attack.

The IDF arrested the terrorist’s mother July 25 on charges of “aggravated incitement” after she expressed pride for her son’s actions in a viral social media video, and celebrated the attack by handing out sweets to guests at the family home.

The Halamish terror attack came on the heels of a Palestinian-incited “day of rage,” in which violent Muslim riots erupted in response to the installation of metal detectors at the entrance gates to Jerusalem’s Temple Mount. Several hours before initiating the attack, the terrorist wrote on Facebook, “There is no life after what is seen in [the Temple Mount compound’s] Al-Aqsa [mosque]….All I have is a sharpened knife, and it responds to the call of Al-Aqsa…God will take revenge on you.”
