(JNS) Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu welcomed Brazilian President Jair Bolsonaro on Sunday as the two began “a new era of partnership and cooperation in all areas,” said the former at his office in Jerusalem.

At a press conference on Sunday, Bolsonaro stopped short of his campaign promise to relocate his country’s embassy in Israel to Jerusalem, instead announcing a trade and innovation office in the city.

Netanyahu welcomed the development and added that it should be the first step towards Bolsonaro fulfilling his promise.

The two announced the signing of a series of agreements relating to science and technology, cyber, aquaculture, security and other fields.

On Monday, Bolsonaro planned to visit the Western Wall, accompanied by Netanyahu.
