(JNS) A Palestinian man shot at Israeli security forces south of Jerusalem on Thursday morning.

The 20-year-old resident of Beit Sahur, near Bethlehem, fired a pistol from the town of Al-Khader at Israeli Border Police staffing a checkpoint on the tunnel road from Judea to Jerusalem. An IDF observation post was able to identify the attacker, and he was chased and arrested by soldiers and officers.

While under pursuit, the Palestinian fired multiple shots at the troops’ armored vehicle, hitting it in the window and multiple other locations.

The man was lightly injured and received treatment at the scene before being taken into custody. A pocket knife and pistol were found in his possession.
