Flatbush Tragedy Caused by Unwatched Menorah, FDNY Confirms

Earlier today, Sephardic.Org reported on a horrible tragedy that took place in the Flatbush area of Brooklyn NY in which a raging fire took the lives of Mrs. Aliza Azan (40) and her three young children, Moshe (11), Yitzchak (7), and Henrietta (3).

It was initially speculation that the cause of the fire was connected to the lit Menorah in the home. It is now officially confirmed by the Fire Marshals at the FDNY that this horrible disaster was started by an, “unattended Menorah,” according to Yeshiva World News.

It was also expressed by the FDNY that there were working smoke alarms within the three story home.

The Livaya took place tonight, Dec. 18, at Beit Knesset Shevet Achim located at Avenue T and East 7th Street in Flatbush. Mrs. Azan and her three children will be flown to Israel for Kevura afterwards.

Please continue to say Tehillim for Shilat Bat Louza Aliza, Daniel Ben Louza Aliza, Avraham Ben Louza Aliza, and Yosef Ben Ahuva Masuda - the survivors of the tragedy who are still currently in critical condition.
