Netanyahu: Israel one of World’s Leading Cyber Powers, Deals With Constant Attacks

(JNS.org) Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said Monday that Israel is undergoing constant cyber attacks, but is a leader in the cyber security field.

“Israel is experiencing every month dozens of attacks on the national level,” from “the usual suspects” and “others,” Netanyahu said during the 2017 Cyber Week conference at Tel Aviv University.

The prime minister said that a few years ago, he “decided to turn Israel into one of the leading cyber powers in the world and I think by all accounts, we’re there.”

“This a fast geometrically rising market,” he said, explaining that the field is constantly changing and “there is never a permanent solution” to cyber attacks.

Netanyahu also noted that cyber security and cyber technology will be discussed with India’s Prime Minister Narendra Modi during his July 5-6 visit to Israel.

Further, President Donald Trump’s adviser on cyber security, Thomas Bossert, said Monday that Israel and the U.S. are launching a joint effort to combat cyber crime, i24NEWS reported.
